Chemical & Industrial Applications

Green Hydrogen is ideal for use as a carbon-free feedstock for chemical and industrial processes. It can be used to replace fossil-based alternatives such as oil, coal and natural gas, and in some applications as a replacement for carbon-intensive Grey or Blue Hydrogen. Chemical and industrial processes are typically difficult to abate directly using electricity because the production methods require combustion or the input of hydrogen as a chemical feedstock.

Decarbonization, therefore, requires the conversion of clean electricity into Green Hydrogen. This is becoming progressively more viable with the rapid, ongoing decline in the cost of renewable energy and the development of Hydrogen Optimized’s RuggedCell water electrolysis technology, which is designed to drive down the cost of producing Green Hydrogen at scale.
